about

“Learning to Drown was a solo album recorded in 2009 with the Jangly Records label. It never saw much of the light of day due to the birth of my daughter and a sudden family move to New Orleans within the same year. Well… Here we are 12 years later and I’m sitting on several hundred brand new/packaged CDs that I’m really proud of but that hardly anyone’s ever heard.

My initial thought was to sell them for 3 bucks or give them away just to get them in peoples hands and keep me from storing them even longer. However, after watching the devastating effects suicide has had on our community in particular the past few years I thought maybe we could help, even if just a little.

With all that said, Learning to Drown CD will be available for purchase Friday, April 2 for 5 dollars on Bandcamp and local record stores Scratch and Spin and Papa Jazz. All proceeds will go directly to the South Carolina chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Thanks ahead of time for your continued support of E.Z. Shakes. Let’s make a difference together.”
